Code of Ethics
Every member of CRC agrees to uphold the Colonial Rottweiler Club Code of Ethics, which guides all aspects of ownership, breeding, and sportsmanship.
Our Code emphasizes:
- Breeding only physically and temperamentally sound Rottweilers
- Maintaining proper health certifications, including OFA/PennHIP and cardiac testing
- Using written contracts for all sales and placements
- Providing lifelong support and education to puppy buyers
- Conducting ourselves honorably in competition and in our representation of the breed

What happens after you apply?
When you apply to join the Colonial Rottweiler Club, we want you to feel welcome right away — even before your membership is finalized. Here’s how the process works:
- After your application and dues are submitted, you’ll receive an email with a PDF copy of our Code of Ethics. Please review it, sign it, and return it — this step is required to move your application forward.
- Once we receive your signed Code of Ethics, your name is shared with current CRC members for a 45-day review period, as required by our bylaws. This step helps protect the integrity of the club and ensures we continue to uphold the highest standards for the breed and our community.
- During this time, your application is considered pending, and you’ll be listed in the Members Clubhouse so existing members can connect with you, offer support, or raise any questions with the Board if needed.
- After the 45-day review period ends, the Board of Directors completes the final vote. You’ll then receive confirmation of your membership along with everything you need to start enjoying the benefits of being part of the CRC community.

Types of Club Memberships & Annual Dues
Open to any individual age 18 or older who owns a Rottweiler. Entitles the member to one vote.
Open to two adult members of the same household, one of whom owns a Rottweiler. Each is entitled to one vote.
For individuals aged 8–17. Juniors may not vote or hold office but are encouraged to participate in club activities.
