CONFORMATION

Conformation shows evaluate dogs against the AKC Rottweiler Breed Standard, highlighting structure, balance, & temperament. CRC members participate in Supported Entries and our annual CRC Specialty, where Rottweilers from across the country compete. From 4-6 month puppy to Best of Breed to Veteran. There are classes for all.

OBEDIENCE

Obedience competition tests precision, teamwork, and communication between dog and handler. From the focused heel in Novice to complex Utility exercises, obedience demonstrates the Rottweiler’s intelligence and willingness to please. CRC encourages training that builds mutual respect and enhances every owner’s relationship with their dog.

RALLY

AKC Rally offers a fun, fast-paced way to showcase obedience skills through a course of signs. Handlers guide their dogs through sits, turns, and stays maintaining an upbeat, encouraging attitude. Rally strengthens the bond between you and your Rottweiler. It’s the perfect gateway to advanced obedience and performance sports. Fun for everyone!

CARTING

Carting, or draft work, honors the Rottweiler’s heritage as a working dog bred to pull carts for butchers and farmers. Dogs learn to harness safely and pull lightweight loads through obstacle courses or parades. CRC offers demonstrations and seminars to help members get started and encourages participation in ARC-sanctioned carting tests.

HERDING

Rottweilers were originally drovers of cattle, and many still excel in herding today. CRC supports herding instinct tests and trials where Rottweilers demonstrate control, responsiveness, and natural ability around livestock. It’s a rewarding activity that connects modern dogs to their working roots. See them in action at our specialty!

AGILITY

Agility courses challenge dogs to navigate jumps, tunnels, and weave poles with accuracy and speed. It’s a fast-paced, thrilling sport that highlights the Rottweiler’s athleticism and focus. CRC supports both new and seasoned members who train and compete in agility, promoting safe conditioning and positive training methods.

TRACKING

Tracking showcases the Rottweiler’s natural ability to follow scent trails over varied terrain. It’s both mentally stimulating and deeply satisfying for the dog. CRC encourages handlers to explore tracking as a foundation for search-and-rescue or scent work competition.

SCENT WORK

Scent work taps into your Rottweiler’s incredible nose! Dogs learn to identify specific scents (such as birch or anise) and indicate their find in various environments. This sport builds confidence, focus, and teamwork — perfect for Rottweilers of all ages.

FAST CAT

Fast CAT (Coursing Ability Test) is a 100-yard dash where dogs run for time, chasing a lure in a straight line. It’s pure fun — a test of speed and enthusiasm rather than conformation. Many Rottweilers surprise their owners with just how fast they can move!

THERAPY

Rottweilers possess a steady, loving temperament that makes them exceptional therapy dogs. Many CRC members volunteer with certified therapy organizations, visiting hospitals, schools, and care facilities. The Jaedyn Volunteer Therapy Award honors CRC teams making an impact in their communities through compassion and service.

DOCK DIVING

Dock Diving showcases athleticism and confidence as dogs leap from dock to water. CRC members enjoy training, supported events, and earning titles while building fitness, teamwork, and enthusiasm together.

IGP/SCHUTZHUND

IGP tests tracking, obedience, and protection while emphasizing control and temperament. CRC members train, trial, and earn titles through supported participation that honors the Rottweiler’s working heritage tradition today.
